Hurricane Florence Production and Delivery Delays

By now we’re sure that you are aware of Hurricane Florence, which is due to hit the eastern coast of the Carolina’s this week. Current reports indicate that it will make landfall around southern North Carolina, but the actual location is subject to change on a daily, if not hourly basis. Along with high winds the hurricane is expected to generate significant storm surges along the coast with heavy rains and severe flooding in multiple states as the storm slowly moves inland.

We want you to be aware that we expect our production schedule at our Kenly, NC facility to be negatively impacted, along with extensive interruptions to our delivery schedules. We operate daily transfer trucks between our East Earl, PA and Kenly, NC facilities taking doors, front frames, mouldings, etc. south, and bringing drawer boxes, cabinet systems and other products north. If the Kenly facility is forced to close or highways become impassable, it will temporarily cut off supply lines between plants and shipments will be delayed, even to areas not directly impacted by the storm.

As of yesterday, our truck delivering to Florida was not released as our driver would likely not be able to make it home safely. A representative will be contacting customers on the Florida route to coordinate alternative delivery arrangements. Beginning Thursday evening, our north-south transfer trucks are being suspended until it has been determined that the highways are safe to drive and that our Kenly facility is accessible and operational.

We will continue to provide regular updates as the effects of the hurricane become clearer. We plan to do everything possible to minimize the impact to our customers, but at this point we can only make plans based on the information currently available.

If you have questions about deliveries, please contact our Customer Service team at 800-964-3667.

Best regards,
