Conestoga Wood Specialties Introduces their X Side Decorative Overlay Panels and X-Style Wine Cabinets

For many who attended this year’s KBIS, a lot were seeing “KBIX!” It seemed like X’s were everywhere in a design and function trend that has clearly taken off.

Well, the “X” is an idea Conestoga Wood has long been attached to…witness their popular rustic farmhouse Crossbuck door design. But this year’s proliferation of X styling has officially inspired Conestoga to amp up their X factor!

Let’s start with the pure aesthetic – Conestoga’s newest stunning design feature, the X Side Overlay Panels. These 1” thick decorative end panels are available as both an open frame design and a plywood center panel version. Cousin to their popular Crossbuck door style, the X Side Overlay Panel is a perfect decorative addition as single panel base and wall cabinet overlays, double opening upright refrigerator end panels, and two- and three-opening side-by-side wainscot panels to adorn island fronts.

The X Side Overlay Panel features 3” framing and cross members and a 6” bottom rail that exemplifies today’s popular farmhouse design.  Exterior framing widths are completely customizable.

Then there’s pretty meets practical, also marked with an X – Conestoga’s new X-Style Wine Storage Cabinets. Their X theme continues with cabinets that are as practical and convenient as they are attractive. In response to this X kitchen styling trend, Conestoga introduces two new cabinet configurations that incorporate this look into their ready to assembly Cabinet Systems program.

The Wall X Cube offers a versatile means of wine storage that allows nearly any size bottle to conveniently stack, one on top of the other. Three different size wine cube cabinets are available and can be installed stand-alone or in conjunction with other cabinet designs.

The Wall X Cabinet is a two opening over-under wall cabinet design with an X insert incorporated into the lower section of the cabinet, beneath the working door. Size customization is available with these flexible new units.

Jeff Eichenseer, Conestoga Director of Marketing & Product Development, says, “As an industry leader, we naturally spend a lot of time studying design trends…especially at KBIS. When we saw the ‘X’ style virtually everywhere we turned, we thought of our Crossbuck rustic X style door and pretty much immediately set out to use that as inspiration for our expanded X design offerings. And it integrates so well with our take on the Farmhouse design trend we’ve been actively involved with in recent times.”
