How does our Custom Wiping Stain Program work? Read on!

Do you have a job with wood flooring, a piece of furniture or even a wood grain laminate that your customer requires a matching or complementary stain color on their cabinetry? Are there installed cabinets in the home that need a replacement door but time has aged them and they no longer match the original color? These questions are just a few examples to which our custom wiping stain program could be the answer.

Finish color can be as essential as the actual kitchen or bath design to today’s consumer. Through our Custom Stain Matching program, a plethora of colors become accessible to use on your cabinet components on a wide array of wood species. Our in-house Finishing Lab works arduously to match the color your customers need to help create the ideal kitchen.

The procedure to get your custom match started is very simple. First, contact our Customer Service Department to receive an RMA for the hard sample of the color you want matched. The RMA insures that your sample can be tracked, and also speeds up processing. Second, fill out the Custom Finish Match Form  from the Custom Product Manual. Attach this form to your sample and send it to us referencing the RMA number. For accuracy, we require an actual physical sample, not a photo or copied image. When the sample arrives at our lab, our technicians will give your color match an alpha numeric code that is linked exclusively to your color. A reproduction of your sample will be created of the color and specie(s) combination that you have requested. Depending on the complexity of the match and the volume of requests we are working on at the time, the matching process could take up to ten business days to generate an accurate sample panel. A 12" x 12" section of the panel will be sent to you with an approval form attached, and the remainder of the panel will be retained by Conestoga to reliably match future jobs that you place in this color. If the match is acceptable, the form must be signed and returned to Conestoga via email or fax. Your signed form is kept on file and your exclusive color code should be referenced on any future orders placed for that stain color.
