Conestoga Wood Nabs 2021 Top Supply Chain Projects Award

The John Galt Project with Conestoga Wood Specialties Nabs 2021 Top Supply Chain Projects Award from Supply and Demand Chain Executive

DALLAS, TX – August 4, 2021 – John Galt Solutions, automating supply chain planning to empower business leaders to make better decisions faster, announces that Supply and Demand Chain Executive has chosen its customer, Conestoga Wood Specialties, for a 2021 Top Supply Chain Projects Award.

The 2021 Top Supply Chain Projects (formerly the SDCE100) Award focuses on the industry’s most successful and transformative projects over the last year. The award centers on collaborations that delivered value to enterprises across a range of supply chain functions, offering a forward-looking perspective as new opportunities—and new struggles—arise.

Conestoga Wood Specialties meets SDCE’s parameters for this coveted award. When the manufacturer of high-quality cabinet doors and wood components sought to expand its offerings with new products, colors and non-wood alternatives, they needed a streamlined, accurate and agile planning system to pivot with success.

With more than 30,000 individual parts, several hundred product types, and multiple manufacturing processes, Conestoga Wood Specialties operates a highly complex supply chain.  The Atlas Planning Platform from John Galt Solutions helped Conestoga Wood Specialties transform its supply chain operations to more flexibly meet the changing market dynamics including the shift in consumer preference from traditional wood-based products to more sustainable solutions.

“We are thrilled to see our project receive this notable distinction,” said Robert Dudek, Senior Supply Chain Manager, Conestoga Wood Specialties. “Leveraging Atlas’ AI-driven planning platform helped Conestoga reduce inventory costs by $1.4 million, establish an automated demand planning process, improve visibility and accuracy of daily demand forecasts, and modernize and automate our S&OP process.”

“We are excited to celebrate Conestoga’s well-deserved recognition as a top supply chain project by such a respected publication,” noted Matt Hoffman, vice president of customer success, John Galt Solutions. “Adding the Atlas Planning Platform moved Conestoga to a single unified solution for planning activities. When supply chains move to a ‘single source of truth’ approach, they can transform their operations into data-driven enterprises that react quickly in disruptive supply chain environments.”
