When Conestoga introduced the ShadowLine series, it brought something genuinely distinctive to the lineup — doors crafted with beautiful real wood veneers over a black MDF core, where that dark substrate becomes part of the design itself. The contrast created by the exposed black core at every profile gives ShadowLine doors their signature architectural character.
With growing interest in modern design, we’ve expanded this collection in two directions: two new door styles that build on the series foundation, and increasing the design options for the slab offering that brings the ShadowLine look to even more applications.
A New Take on the Slab Format
The ShadowLine series now includes two panel grooving options to the slab doors built on a solid black MDF substrate. Available with Cherry, Hard Maple, Rift Cut White Oak, and Walnut veneer faces and backs, these doors let the black core highlights do the talking.
New Options with Soho Design
These new options join the Soho design, with its wide 1/4″ x 5/32″ grooves spaced 1-1/2″ apart — with custom spacing available — that exposes the black core for a bold, rhythmic effect. The Yuma is a clean, simple slab design. On both styles, outside edges are left exposed, allowing the black substrate to serve as a natural contrasting highlight to the face veneer. The look is especially striking with a Natural finish.
Yuma Slab Gets a Refined Update
The Yuma Slab now offers two new V-groove options, adding a tailored, structured dimension to its versatile profile. The Yuma Slab defaults to the L-1353 edge profile, creating a thin, pinstripe effect around the door’s exterior edges for a detail desired in contemporary settings.
Two Brand-New Door Styles Join the Family
Roswell is a new 3-piece door constructed with a horizontal grain panel and vertical grain stiles, bringing a familiar structure to the ShadowLine aesthetic. Sonora is a unique 5-piece design utilizing a ¾” thick center panel that’s flush with the face of the framing — a balanced, modern take on a classic format. Both designs use framing profiles to expose the black MDF substrate, letting that striking core accent the joints and edge profiles in true ShadowLine fashion.
