Over the years, Conestoga Wood Specialties has worked hard to develop a positive work environment and culture where people—not processes—are at the heart of everything we do. Our employees are truly our greatest asset, and we recognize that they are the foundation of our future. Here at Conestoga, we like to capture that idea in our tagline phrase “Our Future is You!”
You may be wondering what that looks like on a day-to-day basis. From the moment you step foot in our manufacturing facilities, you can feel the family atmosphere—an atmosphere that is defined by our Christian values of integrity, respect, accountability, resourcefulness, and innovation. We also know our employees by name, and we value the important role that each one plays in crafting or transporting our beautiful cabinetry. It’s this strong sense of belonging and shared purpose that makes Conestoga Wood Specialties not just a workplace, but a community.
Conestoga strives to show our employees that we appreciate them and care about their wellbeing. We do this through various activities and events throughout the year. The following is a list of some examples:

Throughout our company’s history, we have prioritized giving back to the communities we are in—so much so that we made it a part of our mission statement. We give back to our communities in many different ways, but it can be summarized in Green Initiatives, Sustainability, Supporting Local Charities, and Donation Projects.
Conestoga is very passionate about taking care of our environment and its resources. For example, our sawdust is turned into biomass fuel offsite, and our waste MDF is used for animal bedding. We also recycle tons (literally!) of paper, cardboard, wood shavings, scrap wood, metal, plastic, and carbide.

And this is just scatching the surface!
As a company, we donate often to local charities. Our folks are also very active in supporting these local charities, whether that’s gifting time or physical things. An example of this is our employees helping to pack food at a local ministry called Blessings of Hope. We also do a Giving Tree project every Christmas season to support those in need.
Conestoga occasionally receives requests for donating individual cabinets or full kitchens. We are happy to fulfill those requests and give back in that way. A few project examples include bookshelf cabinets for a local school library, a kitchen for a nearby park’s community center, and a kitchen for a nearby Church.
